When I took my sabbatical one of my goals was to create a European Fashion Directory which includes: fashion institutions, fashion museums and shopping districts. My first activity I examined and critiqued exemplary European Fashion institutes. I observed first-hand what each school had to offer: equipment, classrooms, programs, resources, housing and fashion industry collaborations. Many fashion students are interested in studying abroad and I am now able to recommend schools to them with confidence and direct them to the appropriate institute that fits their individual needs. Another goal was to network with fashion industry professionals and educators. I made some unbelievable contacts and many educators are eager to collaborate on future study abroad programs and/or create special courses for Saddleback students.
